ASST DIRECTOR OF NURSING
Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in managing daily nursing operations, ensuring high-quality resident care, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. They manage staffing schedules, assist with clinical supervision, conduct performance evaluations, and often act as the DON in their absence.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Clinical Leadership: Oversee nursing staff to ensure care standards are met, make rounds to evaluate resident status, and respond to clinical changes.
• Staff Management: Assist with hiring, training, onboarding, and disciplining nurses and nursing assistants to maintain adequate coverage.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations, infection control, and privacy standards (HIPAA).
• Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate resident records, participate in care conferences, and assist in developing nursing policies and procedures.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and staff to coordinate total care for residents.

Qualifications and Skills
• License: Must be a Registered Nurse (RN), typically with 3–5 years of clinical experience in long-term care.
• Leadership Experience: Previous supervisory or management experience is required.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of nursing best practices, proficiency in electronic health records (EHR), and excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of CMS regulations and state-specific nursing home laws.
