FT OR CIRCULATOR DIRECTOR
JOB SUMMARY:
The Operating Room Circulator RN Director is responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period. The RN will assess the patient’s needs, physiologically as well as emotionally, and plan nursing care accordingly. The nursing role during this phase focuses on providing quality patient care through familiarity with and adherence to policies and procedures, and standards of practice for perioperative nursing. She/he will also monitor compliance to established standards and policies and procedures for surgical scrubs. He/she will facilitate and demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required. CNOR certification preferred.
Experience: Operating room experience preferred. Neurologic and Cardiovascular experience preferred.
Equipment/Technology: Basic Computer Skills Required.
Language/Communication: Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English.
Mathematical Skills: Must be able to calculate medication doses and other medication related calculations.
Mental Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Can adapt to rapidly changing workloads due to changes in the surgery census. Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments.
Interpersonal: Works well with others.
Performance: Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines.
