    Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Responsibilities & Duties
    • Assist in the development and implementation of patient treatment plans
    • Conduct therapeutic activities according to the occupational therapist's guidance
    • Monitor patient progress and report it to the supervising Occupational Therapist
    • Instruct patients and families in following treatment plans and using therapeutic equipment
    • Help patients improve their cognitive, physical, and emotional well-being
    • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress and treatments
    • Modify treatment plans to address patient needs in consultation with an Occupational Therapist
    • Educate patients and their families on tasks and activities necessary for rehabilitation
    • Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient care and outcomes
    Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Qualifications & Skills
    • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting (preferred)
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to adapt to various patient needs and treatment environments
    • Proficiency in using occupational therapy tools and equipment
    • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards
    • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy
    • Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
    • Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
    • State licensure or certification as required by local health authorities
    • Basic life support or CPR certification
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
    • Good organizational and time-management skills
