PRN RN/LPN - NURSING HOME
The PRN Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides high‑quality nursing care to residents in a rural long‑term care environment. This role supports the nursing team by filling open shifts, responding to fluctuating census needs, and ensuring continuity of care. The PRN nurse upholds facility standards, regulatory requirements, and resident‑centered care practices.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings accurately
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility policy
Monitor residents for changes in condition and notify the charge nurse, DON, or provider
Provide wound care, infection control practices, and chronic disease management
Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
Maintain accurate and timely charting in the EMR
Resident Support
Promote dignity, comfort, and safety for all residents
Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs
Build rapport with residents and families, offering clear communication and reassurance
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with CNAs, nurses, therapy, dietary, and administrative staff
Follow staffing assignments and support team members during high‑acuity or high‑volume periods
Participate in shift handoff reports and communicate effectively
