Biography:

Dr. Scott Cassidy grew up in both Indiana and Virginia, attended college at Virginia Commonwealth University and graduated from The Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Cassidy fulfilled his surgical residency at Allegheny General Hospital and during his training, was featured in the popular TV program "Trauma: Life in the ER". Dr. Cassidy has had private practices in Virginia and Alabama, and has traveled to several level 1-3 trauma centers across the midwest and northeast. Most recently, Dr. Cassidy practiced in Kona, Hawaii and was the Trauma Medical Director at Kona Community Hospital.

Dr. Cassidy married his wife, Melinda in college and they had their two children, Nicholas and Caroline during his residency. He has called Jackson's Gap home since 2003.

Dr. Cassidy's areas of surgical practice include the following: open and minimally invasive surgery of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis, vascular surgery and dialysis access, wound care, colorectal and breast surgery, hernia repair, critical care, trauma surgery, and thyroid surgery. His residency program was home to the largest study in the world for colon and breast cancer, and he received advanced training in these areas.
